Over the past 15 years of women’s lacrosse, we can certainly agree that the game has evolved dramatically in all facets of the sport.  The rules, the field, the stick, strategies. Most importantly the creativity the ladies have brought to the game.  While observing coaches, coaching techniques and their results over those years, what is most impressive are the relevant takeaways these women add to their individual game to make them and their team more dynamic.  And it is those insights which we seek to share here and will hopefully make a difference in your game.

OPEN DOOR

The vision for this site is to inspire helpful contributions not only for girls interested in developing their game, but for coaches and parents. It won’t be exhaustive. It is meant to build upon, to offer insights designed to refine fundamental skills for all levels which are found elsewhere on the myriad of websites in hopes of provoking thoughtful development of mind, body and equipment. And since doors swing both ways, this site is interactive for all who want join in and benefit with this information.

INTERACTIVE

This is interactive, so I am open to working with anyone who feels they can benefit from this information.

COACH

I am a passionate lover of lacrosse. I learned the game in my teens and played intercollegiate lacrosse at Denison University. I started the first lacrosse program in Cincinnati in the ’70s, enlisting area students and professionals to play against other midwest cities and played into the ’90s. In 2003 my daughter told me she wanted to play. So, I started teaching her goalie skills and have continued to coach goalies ever since. 2004 started my varsity coaching experience, where I was for nine years. Later I joined a summer Academy to coach area youth players, many of whom are now successful members of their area teams and others whom I continue to coach independently. So, now I am enjoying my sixth year coaching the Xavier University womens club lacrosse and starting this coffee table conversation with you.

Now, let’s build the game!
