The Set-Up

The briefest part of this conversation is communications. As the player gets more comfortable with her draw results, she should start preparing/training with her two circle mates on what to expect. This will be a kind of “language” they will use to understand where, if the draw is successful, the ball will fall. There are many ways to do this. An example would be for them to think of the circle as a clock and the attacking goal as 12:00. The Draw could then give her teammates a number describing the direction she wants to move the ball. There is no guarantee of success, but, again, planning and communications will work in their favor. Players can build on this idea as they get comfortable with their teammates and coaches.”

The rest of the Set-Up issues are more personal/individual. These include, stance, grip, pressure and more. AGAIN, these are NOT all inclusive. We are working to bring players ideas and concepts where they can work to their strengths. And, as usual, we have drills.
